How To Use LinkedIn for Business

LinkedIn has 562 million users – that’s a lot of untapped potential if you’re not using it! It’s the top rated social network for lead generation, too.

LinkedIn is the perfect place to:

· Drive business results

· Raise brand awareness

· Promote career opportunities

· Educate potential customers on your products and services

Get Started With LinkedIn

Firstly, you need a detailed Company Profile page with as much information as possible; completed pages receive twice as many visits as uncompleted.

You need to ensure you are posting monthly – companies who post monthly will get followers 6 times faster than those who don’t.

The LinkedIn Algorithm – How It Works

· A bot will evaluate your content as spam, low-quality or clear. It’s therefore vital your content is as pristine as possible.

· Initial user engagement is measured. If your post is getting lots of likes and shares, that’s good. If it’s getting hidden from people’s pages, not so good.

· A bot measures your content for spam again – this is where engagement will also be taken into account.

· Finally, a human will cast their eye over the content and decide whether or not it’s worthy of remaining up, or of being boosted.

How to Get Your LinkedIn Page More Followers

1. Get your employees on board. Encourage employees to connect with the LinkedIn page in order to further your reach. If an employee adds their position to the company, your company will appear on their profile and vice versa.

2. Publish valuable content regularly. LinkedIn recommends at least once per workday, but if you don’t have the resources for this then do as much as you can. Don’t forget you can re-share old blog posts or relevant, interesting news articles from external sources too. LinkedIn also has a publishing platform where you can create posts within LinkedIn.

3. Include images. Text rich content gets less interaction than those with images – in fact, posts with images are shown to receive 98% more comments.

4. Link YouTube videos. If you have videos on YouTube, share them on LinkedIn – they can receive 75% more shares.

5. Use LinkedIn Groups. Become an active participant in a LinkedIn Group and socialise with other professionals and businesses in your field.

6. Use Showcase Pages. Showcase Pages are like subdomains for your Company Page. You can create up to 10 pages for individual products. (Create a page by going to Me – Admin – Manage – Create Showcase Page).

7. Use LinkedIn Analytics. Go to Me – Manage – Analytics to view audience, visitor and update information.
