Our Story

At MK Content, our journey is deeply rooted in passion and purpose. It all began with our founder, Melissa, whose love for beauty and skincare ignited during her early years as a makeup artist and skincare consultant. With mentorship from Wendy Rowe, Melissa worked for various high-end beauty brands, but soon realised that she wanted to combine her love for beauty with her passion for writing.

Driven by her dual passions, Melissa landed a role with an agency boasting an impressive roster of health, beauty, and fitness brands, where she was able to find her niche. Over the course of a decade, Melissa honed her skills, taking on various roles in copywriting and marketing whilst simultaneously running a beauty blog.

MK Content was born as a testament to Melissa's true commitment to empowering businesses in the health, beauty, wellbeing, and fitness sectors.

Our mission is simple – to help companies in these sectors thrive, to elevate their brand narratives, and to spark meaningful connections with their audiences.

Melissa Keen

Founder

Melissa Keen is a seasoned Content Strategist, Marketer, and Senior Copywriter with over 10 years of experience in B2B and B2C marketing.

With over a decade of experience in the Health, Beauty, Fitness, & Wellbeing sectors, she has a wealth of knowledge industry knowledge and insight. Melissa was mentored by expert and celebrity make-up artist, Wendy Rowe, and has worked with major brands including Smashbox, Bare Minerals, Remington, No7, and Friction Free Shaving.

Melissa is a regular guest lecturer at the University of Derby. She is also an aspiring novelist and has received writing mentorship from published author and Reese's Book Club pick, Cesca Major, as well as one of the UK's leading publishing houses, United Agents.
